I am Professor of English and the Luckow Family Endowed Chair at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villanova.edu\/university\/liberal-arts-sciences\/programs\/english.html\">Villanova University<\/a> and affiliated faculty with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villanova.edu\/university\/liberal-arts-sciences\/scholarship\/centers\/irish-studies.html\">Irish Studies<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.villanova.edu\/university\/liberal-arts-sciences\/programs\/global\/gender-womens-studies.html\">Gender and Women&#8217;s Studies.<\/a>\u00a0I am the author of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/core\/books\/modernist-fiction-and-vagueness\/4B2B706247516D040F5EF99085877BF7\">Modernist Fiction and Vagueness: Philosophy, Form, and Language<\/a> <\/em>and co-editor of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomsbury.com\/us\/eliot-now-9781350173934\/\"><em>Eliot Now.<\/em><\/a>\u00a0I have published essays on subjects including Wittgenstein &amp; Woolf, Irish modernism, the #Metoo movement, Henry James, and French translations of James Joyce&#8217;s<em> Finnegan&#8217;s Wake<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>My current research extends debates in early 20th-century philosophy of language to contemporary questions about impersonality, authorship, and machine learning. My work has been supported by fellowships from the Harry Ransom Center, the Huntington Library, and the Beinecke Library. In 2019-2020, I was a Visiting Fellow at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford. I have also lectured at the <a href=\"https:\/\/tseliotschool.com\">T. S.
